When a shopkeeper in Srinagar told me, "those rates are in your Hindostan and not in our Kashmir," I felt like punching him in the face; then I said to hell with him, it is we who gave him that long rope, we the people, through our inane and inept and also unscrupulous elected representatives.

A fantastic treat of the beautiful valley in its full splendour and verve. Six days are way too short to explore the valley that too when two days of it were spent in devouring the richness of the Himachal pradesh.
In the hind sight I thought it all happened in a too fast forward mode. KrimChi, Mantalai, Sudhmahadev, Gauri Kund, drive like crazy..Night halt at Batote, sprint to srinagar... shankaracharya, Nishat, Chashm-e-shahi, off-bloom Tulip gardens Dal lake shikara ride along with frenzy shopping, night halt in the nostalgic old air field Beacon Mess. Wake up to the friendly chirping of the valley birds get ready fast, reach Gulmarg, laze around in Gulmarg, sledge rides, snowballs, baba reshi chulha, shop in srinagar fly down to Jammu, sid bruises his mouth and jaw contacts mumps; we still barge through Himachal reach chintapurnia halt there for the night, next morn rush through Jwalaji, kangra mata, chamunda mata, Baijnath and reach back to jammu mess by the late night
I think this sums up the frenzy tour that we had where in the preceding two days were consumed in visiting Jammu and Mata Vaishno devi.
